A major fundraising event will take place this Saturday October 27th in Clancy’s Knockvicar as part of a community effort to raise money for the maintenance and upkeep of new defibrillators, which were purchased last year. There are currently thirteen defibrillators in the Cootehall in the area, covering approximately 15 square miles and with a population of 700 houses in the region no one is more than nine minutes from a defibrillator in case of an emergency.

Fundraising commenced in February last year with €14,400 currently raised and over a hundred individuals trained to use defibrillator should they need to. The goal is to train 150 more people.

Irish singer Sharon Turley will perform at the fundraising night next Saturday 27th. Admission on the night is by voluntary donation and there will also be a fancy dress competition and raffle. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
