I would like to warmly welcome the news that a number of environmental initiatives in the midlands region are set to receive funding of almost € 20,000 under the 2018 Local Agenda 21 Environmental Partnership Fund. Ballaghaderren National School will benefit from € 450 while Ballyfornan Tidy Towns has been allocated the same amount to use recycled timber to make seating and stepping stones in the proposed new playground.
Also set to receive € 450 is St. Patrick’s NS in Boyle which will enable them to install a rainwater harvest system. This is positive and long overdue news for these initiatives.
