Inland Fisheries Ireland are urging anglers in the midlands region to follow safety regulations carefully after the deaths of three anglers so far this year.
Tragically 109 have people died from drowning in Ireland last year – nine deaths every month and the Association have said it is it is particularly important as winter approaches that anglers in rural areas stay safe to prevent further tragedy.
With the river Shannon flowing through Tarmonbarry and the nearby village of Rooskey we all have a duty to remain extra viligant. .
