Tarmonbarry is again among the Bronz medal winners in the 2018 National TIDY TOWNS competition which has just been announced in the Helix Centre DCU in Dublin.
The County Roscommon Tourist Village situated on the banks of the river Shannon got 320 points only 19 points behind the national winner Listowel

This is a great boost for further development in the very popular Tourist Village having won a bronze medal in the 2017 national tidy towns competition and now only 19 points away from the national winner. Thank you to all my colleagues on the committee, the dedicated workers and the local community for their continued support in making Tarmonbarry one of the most popular tourist destinations on the river Shannon and the wider region. The small businesses in the Village now employ over 100 local people.

I would also like to pay tribute to all the other winners in the region including Ballintubber in the National Diversity Award. Margeret Nugent Rooskey Tidy Towns highly commended hero, County Awards: Castlecoote, Keadue and Ballintubber.

Gold: Carrick on Shannon, Castlecoote, Roscommon Town.
